Triple Murder Funeral Service

Allison Hudler holds son, Cole Hudler (right, age 6), after the funeral services for Ron and Fred Hudler held Wednesday at the Boone Family Funeral Home in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Fred, Cole's dad and Allison's ex-husband; and his father, Ron Hudler, were murdered along with an employee of their Christmas tree farm on Thursday. Police have arrested Frederick Phillip Hammer for the murders, which police suspect were motivated by robbery.

Heather Necole

Heather Necole, of Fincastle, is an aspiring country star with a record label deal. Heather will by having a launch party for her new cd, February 14th in Salem.

Running for Bangledesh

Noting that "sleep has not come easy since my return from Bangladesh", Glen Argabright is trying to run 150 plus miles on and elliptical machine in his basement to help raise money for children centers in Bangladesh. Glen, his late father, Leon Argabright, and brother, Dave Argabright, and their families devote a lot of time and money to missions, primarily through the Church of the Nazarene. Glen's friends say this is the first time they recall him seeking donations for any of his work.

Burning Car

A car burns beneath a collapsed deck during a house fire at 203 Howard Drive in Salem, Virginia on Thursday morning. A woman, Jackie Sarver, her cat, and dog got out of the house safe after being alerted to the fire by a passer-by.

This was the biggest fire I have ever been to. The car burned for nearly an hour. Luckily, the woman who lived in the house made it out without injury, with her dog, who the neighbors said was her life.

Championship Win

After losing in the title game to Mt. Union in two consecutive years, Wisconsin-Whitewater defensive lineman, Chris Kneeland (right, #75), shares a moment with offensive lineman, Dan Anstett (left, #68), after their teammate, quarterback, Danny Jones scored the winning touchdown against the Mt. Union defense during the fourth quarter of the 2007 Stagg Bowl held at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia on Saturday. Wisconsin-Whitewater won its first ever Division III National Championship 31-21 over the number 1 ranked Mount Union Raiders, in the process ending the Raiders' NCAA-best 37-game win streak.

Thought this was a really nice moment. There is something about sports that makes men, even these physically giant football players, let their guard down, and not be afraid to show emotion.

State Football Loss
